Making history, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan won gold in the 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships with a world record performance.

Tobi became the first Nigerian athlete to win gold at the World Athletics Championships. Tobi, who ran 12.06 seconds in the final, broke the world record in the semi-finals (12.12) and renewed it again in the final.

In Eugene, she finished second behind Kendra Tobey. Tobey broke the time record of 12.20 seconds set by America’s Kendra Harrison in 2016.
