Today, Wednesday, the matches of the Iraqi Clubs Championship for Advanced Men’s and Women’s 2024, which is held by the Federation of the Game and hosted by Basra Al-Fayhaa Governorate, will begin today, Wednesday, under the patronage of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Al-Mubarqa, for the period from February 28 to the third of next March.

Yesterday, Tuesday, witnessed the holding of the technical conference for the tournament in the presence of the President of the Football Association, Mustafa Jabbar Alak, and representatives of the participating clubs.
It is hoped that the tournament activities will witness a wide participation of players representing various local teams to prove their worth in obtaining the opportunity to represent the national team in upcoming foreign competitions.
In a precedent that occurs for the first time in the history of local competitions, the tournament will witness the presence of an elite group of Arab referees to lead the fights, as the list of refereeing teams consisted of nine Arab referees, namely Rashid Hassan Abdullah, Muhammad Salem Ahmed Al-Mihdhar, Muhammad Saleh Abdullah Al-Hammadi, and Ahmed Muhammad Al-Khashoui from the UAE. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Shahrani from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Khalil Ahmed Zaarour and Nisreen Ali Berro from Lebanon, Ahmed Abdul Latif Al-Khalaifa from Jordan, and Hudhaifa Azmi Abu Al-Haj from Palestine.
