This Sunday, Salvados feels for the first time since the investiture the most critical voice within the PSOE with Pedro Sánchez. Emiliano García-Page, president of Castilla la Mancha, will walk the streets of Toledo and speak with the citizens who approach them. García Page has publicly defended that a very high price has been paid for the investiture and some people who meet him question his political position, while others applaud it.

After the walk, García-Page sits down with different citizens who do not agree with his position regarding the pacts that Pedro Sánchez needed to be inaugurated. Paco Medina is a socialist activist and claims to have come to the program ‘A slap on the wrist’ to García-Page. He is in favor of amnesty because it can help normalize the situation in Catalonia. He believes that there were channels to convey García-Page’s discomfort to Sánchez without making it public “And giving wings to the right.”

Ángel Alonso is 81 years old and is more of a supporter of the PP than the PSOE. Ignacio Blanco is a journalism student. Ángel wrote a letter to a newspaper in which he called García-Page a hypocrite. Ignacio asks García-Page why he did not lead an alternative option to Sánchez and if he would have voted against the investiture, if he had been a deputy. Cristina Almansa is Catalan with La Mancha roots. She had always voted for the PSC until in recent years she became pro-independence. She considers the amnesty necessary to achieve social peace in Catalonia and believes that García-Page is a Spanish nationalist.

Finally, García-Page sits down with Minerva del Hoyo, Podemos councilor in Miguelturra (Ciudad Real) and José Hernández, from Puerto Llano. José was a leader of the socialist youth of his city until he left the party because he disagreed with García-Page. Both voted for Sumar in the last elections and believe that, more than worrying about “Spain breaking up” or the amnesty, their president should worry about the people of Castile-La Mancha who live precariously.

García-Page listens to everyone and responds directly and bluntly: “For the PSOE, the amnesty is a political toll. It is done because Puigdemont demands it.” He also assures that “two months ago I asked Pedro Sánchez for a quiet meeting. I understand that he must be very busy.” Regarding the current situation, he adds that “we live in a time of trenches. Those who are in one automatically disqualify those who are in the other. And I don’t feel like it.” He also talks about the right: “What they will never get from me is that I cross the line of betrayal, they talk about transfuguism as if it were candy.”
