Ayya Vaikunder fought for the oppressed people in the society. People who follow his path see Lord Vaikundar as the combined incarnation of Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu.
Today, which is his 191st incarnation day, people worship him and take out processions in their respective areas. Local holidays have been announced for 4 southern districts to celebrate his incarnation day and for the convenience and safety of devotees.
Accordingly, the respective district administration has declared a local holiday for 4 districts namely Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Thenkasi today.
It is also noted that the holiday will not apply if the public examination is held in schools and colleges.
