Today is the 76th Independence Day; The Prime Minister will hoist the flag at the Red Fort

The country celebrates its 76th Independence Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the flag at the Red Fort at 7:30 am. Ahead of this, the Red Fort and surrounding areas are beautifully decorated. Heavy security has been put in place at key locations due to the threat of terrorist attacks. More than 10,000 policemen have been deployed in Delhi alone.

Homes have also been made a part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Independence through the Har Ghar Tiranga programme. Union Home Minister Amit Shah hoisted the national flag at his residence in Delhi. Union Ministers, MPs, celebrities and others became part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the Independence Day celebrations from the historic Red Fort in the national capital on Monday. He will hoist the national flag and address the nation for the ninth consecutive time.

Anganwadi workers and street vendors are among the Red Fort invitees

Like on Republic Day 2022, unsung heroes of the society who are usually neglected have been invited as special guests for the function. These include Anganwadi workers, street vendors, mudra scheme borrowers and mortuary workers.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State Ajay Bhatt, Defense Secretary Dr. Defense Secretary General Officer Commanding (GoC), Delhi Area, Lieutenant General Vijay Kumar Mishra, AVSM, will be introduced to the Prime Minister. PM Modi will then be escorted to the saluting base where Inter-Services and Delhi Police Guards will jointly give a public salute to the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will then inspect the Guard of Honour.

The Guard of Honor for the Prime Minister will consist of one officer each from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police and a contingent of 20 members each. The coordinating service this year is the Indian Air Force. Wing Commander Kunal Khanna is leading the Guard of Honour. The Air Force contingent in the Prime Minister’s Guard will be led by Squadron Leader Lokendra Singh, the Army by Major Vikas Sangwan and the Navy by Lt. Commander Avinash Kumar. Additional DCP (East Delhi) Shri Achin Garg will lead the Delhi Police team.

After being inspected by the guard of honour, Prime Minister Modi will proceed to the top floor of the Red Fort, where he will be received by Rajnath Singh, Ajay Bhatt, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Navy Chief Admiral R Harikumar and Air Force Chief. Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary. The Prime Minister will be escorted by an elephant to hoist the national flag.

After hoisting the tricolor, ‘political salute’ will be taken. A 20-member Air Force Band will play the National Anthem while hoisting the National Flag and rendering the political salute. Master Warrant Officer Raghuvir Band will perform. Squadron Leader Sumita Yadav will assist the Prime Minister in hoisting the national flag.

Meanwhile, elaborate celebrations have been organized in the state today. At nine o’clock at the Thiruvananthapuram Central Stadium, the state-level Independence Day celebrations will begin with the hoisting of the national flag by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister will receive the Guard of Honor of various armed forces during the Independence Day Parade. Governor Arif Muhammad Khan will hoist the flag at the Raj Bhavan and Speaker MB Rajesh will also hoist the flag at the Legislative Assembly premises. Ministers will hoist the national flag and take salute at various district headquarters.
