Today, Friday, the Iraqi Clubs Taekwondo Championship for juniors, boys and girls, will start, with wide participation from teams from the capital and other governorates. The Armenian Club’s sports hall will be the stage for the competition’s activities.

The media coordinator of the game’s federation, Ahmed Al-Gharawi, said in a statement followed by the (INA), “The competitions of the Iraqi clubs for juniors, boys and girls, will start today, Friday, at the Armenian Sports Club, with wide participation of players, boys and girls, from various local teams, adding that it will be followed by the technical staff of our national team, which in turn will choose the most suitable to represent the game in international events, based on the final results.”

He pointed out that “the championship is of great importance, as it is an important preparatory station for our players, especially since there are many stations awaiting the Taekwondo champions during the coming period, noting that organizing this competition comes within the framework of the Federation’s efforts to develop the game and raise it to better levels, through its interest in all age groups, and its efforts to attract more talents to support clubs and national teams with new players.”

Regarding the rest of the Taekwondo curriculum, he explained that “the Federation’s activities have not ended yet, and there are other competitions for the remaining categories, including the South Korean Ambassador’s Cup competitions, which are expected to be held at the end of this month, in addition to championships for cubs, seniors, and youth for males and females.”
