Rameswaram: People’s tax money of Rs. 6.50 lakh was wasted due to the non-use of a toilet block in Mandapam Municipality near Rameswaram.
In 2017, in Swachh India Project, they constructed a toilet block at Mandapam Singharathoppu Street at a cost of Rs.6.50 lakh. In the beginning, people used the toilet and maintained it, but over time they neglected it.
As a result, the toilet hall has remained unused for more than three years. Due to this, the pipe and doors of the toilet are damaged and the building is weakened, so there is a risk of the toilet hall collapsing in a few years. As a result, people’s tax money is Rs. 6.50 lakh was wasted.
