Tokenization Process for Rs 1,000 Scheme under Artist Royalty Scheme to Begin Soon in Chennai

CHENNAI: The tokenization process for the Rs 1,000 scheme under the Artist Royalty Scheme is set to begin in Chennai soon, according to sources in the Fort. It has been decided to issue a token for this purpose.

In preparation for the scheme, camps will be started from the 24th of this month in Chennai. The first phase of the camps, which will run until August 4, will issue applications in 650 ration shops. The second phase will commence immediately after and continue until August 16. The token will be issued in two phases.

To ensure efficient distribution, preparations are currently underway to set up 250 camps in the first phase, with one camp designated for every 3-4 ration shops. Subsequent phases will see the establishment of camps for other ration shops in a staggered manner.

In these camps, 80 to 100 tokens are issued on a daily basis. Applications will only be given to individuals who have purchased these tokens. Chennai has a total of 1,417 ration shops, and it is not necessary to purchase these tokens in person.

Tokens and applications will be issued based on the ration card. In the event that an application has not been given, individuals can visit the camp and purchase one. This arrangement has been made to avoid overcrowding. Authorities have also assured that the tokens will reach households before the 24th of this month.

The scheme is expected to benefit a significant number of people, as there are a total of 17.18 lakh family cardholders in Chennai. Out of these cardholders, it is predicted that around 10 lakh people will be able to avail of the benefits. For the first phase, 12 lakh applications have been printed, with additional printing being considered due to the potential for more applications.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin’s announcement of the scheme, which entails providing Rs 1,000 per month to the head of the family, has garnered praise. The scheme is scheduled to commence on September 15, Anna’s birthday. Notifications regarding the various rules and regulations associated with the scheme have recently been published.

Under this scheme, money will be given to women above the age of 21. However, in the case of joint families with multiple women above 21 years of age, confusion could arise in determining the head of the family. The Tamil Nadu government has addressed this issue by stating that if there are multiple women in a family who have completed 21 years of age, the family members can choose one person as the head.

In the case of multiple married women, payment will only be made if they have separate ration cards. A single ration card will not be eligible for multiple payments. The government has clarified that only one person can receive the allowance for a particular ration card.

The Tamil Nadu government has published a detailed list of who qualifies as the head of the household eligible for this scheme. It includes all individuals listed in the family card, the woman mentioned as the head in the family card, and the wife of the head of the family mentioned in the card. Unmarried single women, maids, and transgenders who head households are also considered eligible for the scheme.

With the tokenization process commencing soon, the Artist Royalty Scheme in Chennai is expected to benefit a significant number of individuals, providing much-needed financial support to eligible families.
