The Tokyo Game Show is a comprehensive exhibition of computer entertainment, including computer games, held annually. The first event took place in 1996, and this year marks its 28th edition. The theme for TGS2024 is “Lead the World with Games.” Following last year, the venue will again utilize all halls from 1 to 11 of Makuhari Messe, including the International Conference Hall and the Event Hall. A total of 985 companies and organizations are exhibiting from 44 countries and regions (30 of which are participating online). Of these, 450 are domestic exhibitors and 535 are international exhibitors, both of which are record numbers, representing about 1.2 times the previous event’s figures. There are 3,252 exhibition booths, and a total of 2,850 titles will be showcased, both record highs. This event is being held on the largest scale in TGS history.

This year, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is participating with a PlayStation booth for the first time in five years, revealing the “PlayStation 5 Pro” (PS5 Pro) to the public for the first time globally. In addition to hands-on demonstrations of new titles such as Capcom’s “Monster Hunter Wilds,” there will be presentations on eSports, AR/VR, indie games, blockchain games, as well as exhibits of hardware and furniture that enhance the gaming environment, along with solutions for the gaming business.
