Marvel and Sony are looking for a new director for the next Spider-Man film. Actor Tom Holland, 27, has been confirmed as the lead
According to insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are looking for a new director for the Spider-Man 4 film.

Recent rumors pointed to an impasse, with Marvel wanting new blood and Sony demanding the return of filmmaker Jon Watts, who directed the three Spider-Man films with Tom Holland. Marvel’s expectations for a successful film are high.

This is due to the last release ‘Madame Teia’ which had great promotion and advertising behind the film, however in the eyes of critics it did not reach public acclaim. The film was directed by SJ Clarkson and had a budget of 80 million dollars.

If Richtman’s information is correct, it appears that both sides have agreed to seek a new name. However, the Spider-Man 4 project remains in draft form, and the script is still in its infancy.
