Became a turning point
Tom Kottakkakam is an actor who has made a name for himself in the field of Malayalam cinema. Later she acted in a few notable films. But Tom says ‘Jana Gana Mana’ was a turning point in his film career. ‘101 Questions’ directed by Siddharth Siva won the National Award. But Tom says he now has an audience acceptance that he never had before.
Dubbing and production
I love movies. He came to cinema with production because he loves cinema so much. In the meantime I have dubbed for many famous actors. I was invited by a friend to play the role of DIG in ‘Jana Gana Mana’, says Tom.
DIG Harindra Sharma
I feel very fortunate to have been invited to such a big Pan India film. DIG Harindra Sharma, the character assigned to me, was presented as beautifully as possible though. I was the one who gave the voice to the character.
With a good team
DIG Harindra Sharma played a very responsible role in the film. Director Dijo Jose Anthony gave me great support. Corrected even minor bugs and stopped with. Jana Gana Mana had a good team with Raju and Surajettan. In Tom’s words, it was an atmosphere where he could work very happily.

The director stood by the support which gives good confidence to everyone. The location of ‘Jana Gana Mana’ has given me many unforgettable experiences in my film career. Surajettan was there with full support for everything. So it was the cooperation of a good team that enabled me to act in this film in a good way.
Very serious matter
‘Jana Gana Mana’ is a breakdown of the political and social issues of present day India. The film has a theme and approach that is not even ready for experimentation in Malayalam till date. A very serious subject is presented in a way that is digestible to all audiences.

The film is directed by Dijo Jose Antony and stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mamta Mohandas and Vince Aloysius. The screenplay is by Sharis Mohammad. The theatrical release of the film has already received rave reviews from audiences. Within five days of its release, the film had grossed over Rs 20 crore at the box office.
