Now it is official what was no longer a secret: Tom Zimmerschied (25) is moving from third division team Dynamo Dresden to SV Elversberg in the 2nd division with immediate effect.
Both clubs announced this on Wednesday evening.

“Tom contacted us hoping that he could take the next step in his development this season and move to the 2nd Bundesliga,” Dresden sporting director Thomas Brendel said of the event.

Brendel continued: “We know his qualities on the pitch so we want to see him still part of our team. But the move makes sporting sense for the player and makes economic sense for us as a club, so we didn’t want to put any obstacles in Tom’s way.”
Officially, both clubs have agreed not to disclose the transfer modalities. BILD knows: The transfer fee is around 400,000 euros. There are also bonuses, for example for a corresponding number of games.
Quite financially profitable for SGD. Especially since Tom Zimmerschied is still unable to play due to a back injury. And he could be left free next summer.
Ceka, Nollenberger and Sterner in conversation
The attacking man joined Dynamo from Halleschen FC in 2023 and scored five goals and provided 12 assists in 37 games last season. Accordingly, his departure is a sporting loss for the third division club.
Regarding his move, Zimmerschied said: “I recently had a very good exchange with the people responsible for the club and I am now looking forward to the opportunity to play with the team and SVE in the 2nd Bundesliga. It will be an exciting task and challenge, but I am sure we will have a positive time here together.”
Dynamo Dresden An extension must now be sought to find a replacement before the transfer deadline at the end of August. Among those being discussed are Jason Ceka (24), Alexander Nollenberger (27, both FCM) and Jonas Sterner (22, Kiel).
