The Madras High Court has postponed the hearing of the appeal filed by OPS and its supporters against the verdict of the single judge in the case seeking a stay on the AIADMK general committee resolutions and the general secretary election. OPS and his supporters, Manoj Pandian, Vaithilingam, and J.C.D.Prabhakar, had filed separate cases in the High Court for a ban on the resolutions passed in the AIADMK general meeting and the election of the AIADMK general secretary. Judge K. Kumaresh Babu rejected the interim petitions filed by OPS, saying that the resolutions passed in the AIADMK General Committee will proceed. In response to this, OPS and four others filed an appeal in the High Court, requesting that Edappadi Palaniswami be barred from acting as AIADMK General Secretary until the appeal case against the order of the single judge is completed. Only the appeal petition filed by OPS was listed and heard today in the session comprising Justices R. Mahadevan and Mohammad Shafiq. At the time, on the part of three people including Manoj Pandian, it was appealed that the appeal petitions filed against the judgment of Judge Kumaresh Babu should also be taken up for hearing. The judges have adjourned the hearing of the appeal case and said that they will hear all the petitions together on Friday, March 31st.

Chennai: The Madras High Court has adjourned the hearing of the appeal filed by OPS and its supporters against the verdict of the single judge in the case seeking a stay on the AIADMK general committee resolutions and the general secretary election till Friday (March 31).

OPS and his supporters Manoj Pandian, Vaithilingam and J.C.D.Prabhakar had filed separate cases in the High Court seeking a ban on the resolutions passed in the AIADMK general meeting and the election of the AIADMK general secretary. Judge K. Kumaresh Babu, who heard these cases, had rejected the interim petitions filed by the OPS saying that the resolutions passed in the AIADMK General Committee will go.

Against this judgment of the single judge, 4 persons including OPS have filed an appeal in the High Court. In this, they requested that Edappadi Palaniswami be barred from acting as AIADMK General Secretary until the appeal case against the order of the single judge is completed.

In this case, only the appeal petition filed by OPS was listed and heard today in the session comprising Justices R. Mahadevan and Mohammad Shafiq. At that time, on the part of three people including Manoj Pandian, it was appealed that the appeal petitions filed against the judgment of Judge Kumaresh Babu should also be taken up for hearing.

Accepting this, the judges adjourned the hearing of the appeal case saying that they will hear all the petitions together on Friday (March 31).
