/ The first division basketball league championship will start tomorrow, Thursday, and will be held in five governorates: Baghdad, Basra, Dhi Qar, Nineveh, and Karbala.
The media coordinator of the union, Ahed Faleh, told Shafak News Agency, “The competitions will continue for three days, from the 8th to the 10th of this month, with the exception of the Karbala Governorate gathering, which was set to start from the 11th to the 13th of this month.”
He added, “The Iraqi Basketball Federation has named the refereeing teams, observers and supervisors of the tournament.”
He explained that the first group includes the clubs “Samawah, Al-Yaqza, Al-Numaniyah and Al-Jamaheer”, while the second group includes the clubs “Sabis, Darbandikhan, Nineveh Workers and Akkad Ain Kawa”, and the third group includes the clubs “Police Vehicles, Al-Habbaniyah, Samarra and Al-Wahda”, while the fourth group will include the clubs “Maysan Oil, Al-Furat, Al-Rifai and Al-Nasiriyah”, and the fifth group will include three clubs “Al-Shabab Al-Basri, Al-Shatra and Qalaat Sukkar”.
