Today (Sunday) Barak posted a post on his Facebook account, in which he continues the aggressive line against Netanyahu and Levin. In the post he writes that tomorrow’s vote on the first phase of the reform is an “attempt to assassinate the values of the Declaration of Independence” and later in the post he claims that the protesters should intensify the protest, “we are just getting started”, he wrote.
Barak opens the post with a warning from the “assassination attempt” as he calls the vote on the law: “Citizens of Israel, tomorrow there is going to be an assassination attempt on the values of the Declaration of Independence and the rule of law in Israel. This is another step on the way to crushing the justice system and turning Israel into a de facto dictatorship, (disguised as a democracy) It has already been said, ‘Democracy must know how to defend itself against those who use the tools it provides and the freedoms it grants, in order to destroy it from within.’ Bibi, Rothman and Levin, stated President Hayut, is not the correction of the justice system but the crushing of it and the removal of Israel from the family of democratic states.
