The movie “A casa tutti bene” with Pierfrancesco Favino, Carolina Crescentini, Stefano Accorsi, and Claudia Gerini airs tonight on Rai 1: here’s the plot
Love and discord in a large Italian family: it is the paradigm of Gabriele Muccino’s cinema, generously elaborated in this “A casa tutti bene,” scheduled by Rai 1 at 21.25 on Friday, August 16. On the occasion of their silver wedding anniversary, Alba and Pietro gather the whole family for a lunch at their villa, on the island where they have built their grand restaurant over the years. But after the party, bad weather will prevent everyone from leaving: the guests, relatives and in-laws, are forced to stay on the island and spend an extra day together beyond what was planned. Tensions and contradictions will soon emerge.
The ensemble film, the intertwining of stories, and the closed setting are the most congenial elements for Muccino senior, who in this case has been able to expand the cast considerably: from Favino to Marescotti, from Sandrelli to Giulia Michelini, the generosity of the plot and Muccino’s usual attention to dialogue allow our most prominent actors to express themselves at a consistently high level. The wonderful off-season scenery of Ischia adds to the charm of the film.
