Tonight (Sunday) several military targets in Syria were attacked in an attack attributed to the Israeli Air Force. According to reports from Syria, at least five Syrian civilians were killed in the attack in two different locations. During the attack, defense systems were activated and it appears that some of the missiles launched at the attacking planes are the ones that killed at least three people near Damascus.
Under the auspices of the Iranians’ “humanitarian” aid to the earthquake-stricken country, the Iranians transferred weapons to Syria that were destined to be transferred to Hezbollah. On the way to Lebanon, the weapons were stored in a weapons warehouse that was attacked tonight, according to foreign reports, by the Israeli Air Force. According to the reports, the attacking planes came from the direction of the Golan Heights.
No one in the Middle East is surprised that the Iranians are making efforts to use humanitarian aid to smuggle weapons. In recent years, Iran made every effort to find an effective smuggling route and Israel made many efforts to block them. The creativity, it turns out, does not end, nor does the cynicism of exploiting the heavy disaster for the purpose of smuggling ammunition from Iran to Lebanon via the Syrian route.
According to the reports from Syria, tonight an ammunition warehouse near the airport in Damascus was attacked, and much destruction was caused in the Kfar Susa neighborhood of the city. According to Syrian opposition officials, the area that was attacked was used by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
The first reports came from the Syrian news agency, “SANA”, where they reported that the air defense systems were operating against “Israeli aggression in the area”. According to reports in Iran and Syria, at least 5 people were killed in the attack, while according to the Syrian Ministry of Health, 3 people were killed. This morning it turns out that the three were killed by the anti-aircraft missiles fired by the Syrians, while two others were killed by the attack itself in another area. The other two dead were apparently killed in an attack aimed at the defense systems and they are probably two Syrian soldiers who activated the anti-aircraft systems.
In Syria they reported that “at 22:00 the Zionist Air Force carried out an air strike and launched missiles from the occupied Golan Heights towards several targets in and around Damascus, including residential neighborhoods.” An official in the Syrian army added: “The air defense systems intercepted most of the missiles. As a result of the aggression, according to a preliminary report, 5 people were killed and 15 civilians were injured, some of them in a serious condition. Several houses were destroyed and several neighborhoods in Damascus were damaged.”
