Defying all predictions that an artist is at the height of his popularity at a young age, Tony Bennett had signed his greatest success at the age of 85, becoming number one in sales with his album Duets II in 2012. “It’s an incredible and marvelous gift, he told us then. Born Anthony Dominick Benedetto in a family of Italian immigrants in 1926 in New York, he died on July 21, 2023 in this same city. He was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, which forced him to interrupt his career at the end of 2021, at the venerable age of 95.
