(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 24 – “Because of too much pain,” actress Claudia Cardinale will not attend Alain Delon’s funeral this afternoon in the private chapel of the actor’s property in Douchy (Loiret). The actress’s agent told AFP. Delon, who died last Sunday at the age of 88, will be buried privately today at the end of a ceremony officiated by former bishop Jean-Michel Di Falco, long considered the chaplain of celebrities. The funeral will begin at 4 p.m., his three children Anthony, Anouchka and Alain-Fabien told AFP. Delon will be buried around 5 p.m., as he wished: at home, near his dogs. About 50 close friends of the Delon family are invited and expected from early afternoon. According to sources close to AFP, Rosalie van Breemen, the actor’s ex-wife and mother of Anouchka and Alain-Fabien, actresses Nicole Calfan, Muriel Robin and Géraldine Danon (who is also Delon’s goddaughter) should be present.
