In 40 schools in Bulgaria, various tools for evaluating the quality of education will be introduced on a trial basis. School teams in them will have the opportunity to create their own quality management systems based on the various criteria, indicators and measurement methods provided to them. This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Education and Science.

Pedagogical specialists in them will undergo self-assessment and quality management training, financed under the National Ministry of Education and Culture “Qualification of Pedagogical Specialists” program.

Schools will be selected to participate in the program following their application. The requirements are that they should be from all over Bulgaria, with at least one school from each administrative region of the country. The schools themselves should be different in size and type – primary, basic, secondary, unified, profiled and vocational high schools. Educational institutions with both high, low and average results will be included in the program.

Each of the selected schools will form a quality development committee with three members. The Commission will develop a one-year plan (for the academic year 2024/2025) for the development of quality, as well as a methodology for monitoring and tracking the progress of this plan. Participating schools will provide feedback on the applicability of the proposed criteria, indicators and tools and will be able to propose changes to them.

Once the tools are implemented in the various educational institutions, it will be possible to analyze which of them are the most effective.
