The Bishopric of Barbastro-Monzón reveals in the second place that, in the year 2020, the Prelature requested “the novation of the contract for the transfer of the hermitage and the image of the Virgin of Torreciudad, both property of the Bishopric”.
Legal sources consulted by ACI Prensa explain that “novation is the modification or extinction of an obligation that is produced by the constitution of a new one that modifies or extinguishes the previous one.”
After analyzing the proposal, the Bishopric’s legal team considered it impossible “to carry out the novation in the requested terms.”
