Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League (EPL) will face Bayern Munich of the German Bundesliga. Ben Davies, who is visiting Korea for the third time, expressed his gratitude for the love shown by the fans.

At a press conference held prior to the second match of the ‘Coupang Play Series’ against Munich, which will be held at 8 p.m. on the 3rd at Seoul World Cup Stadium, Davis said, “I am looking forward to facing Munich, one of the strongest teams in Europe,” and “I will finish the tour well by putting on a great match in front of the fans.”

The ‘Coupang Play Series’, which has excited soccer fans by inviting world-class clubs every summer, is being held successfully this year as well.

On the 31st of last month, Tottenham, with Son Heung-min starting, had a fierce battle against the professional soccer all-star team K-League, scoring a total of 7 goals.

This time, Son Heung-min’s Tottenham and Kim Min-jae’s Munich will have a ‘Korean derby’ at Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Davis has visited Korea for the third time this year, following visits in 2017 and 2022.

“I feel especially happy when I come to Korea. I feel grateful for the love I receive as time goes by,” said Davis. “I feel humbled by the fact that I can receive so much love when I come to Korea. What makes Seoul special is that you can feel the heat even outside the stadium,” he said with a smile.

Davies, who joined Tottenham in 2014, is one of the few players who has dedicated himself to Tottenham for a long time, along with Son Heung-min.

He said, “This year, we have a lot of young players joining us. We are training hard during the preseason and preparing for the season. We are always preparing positively to achieve the best results.”

Asked about reuniting with Eric Dier for this match, Davis said: “He was a really close friend of mine before he was a teammate. I’m really happy that he’s continuing to play for a world-class team.”

Regarding Son Heung-min meeting his national teammate Kim Min-jae as an enemy, the team said, “Son Heung-min will worry about how to play well with the team. He will think about the game as a team rather than his personal feelings.”

Davies’ contract with Tottenham is set to expire in the summer of 2025.

He expressed his intention to stay with the team, saying, “The expiration of my contract is not important. I was quite happy at Tottenham. The upcoming season is important. Rather than worrying about the end of my contract, I want to stay with the team for a long time.”
