Japan’s game developers, Compile Heart and Sting, have announced the joint development of a new secondary creation strategy RPG called “Touhou Spell Carnival” (Touhou Spell Carnival). The game is set to be launched on PS4/PS5/Nintendo Switch, and other platforms in the spring of 2024, with its release date scheduled for April 18, 2024.
The game will be available in three different versions for players to choose from. The regular version will be priced at 8,580 yen, while the carnival version will be priced at 10,780 yen. Additionally, a special edition will be available for 14,080 yen, which will include Reimu and Marisa models, special hanging scrolls, stickers, visual art books, game soundtrack CDs, and other bonuses.
“Touhou Spell Carnival” is based on the popular “Touhou Project” and is a new type of “Danmaku Strategy SRPG” that combines elements of barrage shooting and strategic SRPG. Players will have the opportunity to choose and cultivate their favorite “Touhou Project” characters, as well as use a variety of traps and ever-changing barrages to strategize and experience intense battles throughout the game.
