The extent of the wounds weakens these trees and makes them more vulnerable to diseases, parasites and fungi.
Farmers in Haute-Garonne expressed their fed-up with the end of tax-free agricultural diesel, the lack of visibility for organic farming and the directions taken by the common agricultural policy. They are demanding in particular a reduction in charges and a break regarding the numerous standards to which they are subject.
