Their demonstration on the Toulouse ring road on November 22 did not go unnoticed, stranding many motorists for more than two hours in traffic jams. After expressing their anger by dumping mountains of waste in front of the Administrative City of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), the Young Farmers and the FDSEA carried out a snail operation on the ring road. After Vinci, it is the town hall of Toulouse which announces that it is filing a complaint against the damage caused in the city center.

Fed up and demands

“The metropolitan technical services collected and temporarily stored 60m3 of waste (tires, manure, pallets, straw, etc.) dumped in the public space around the Administrative City,” indicates the City of Toulouse. This waste must then be removed for recycling or disposal. The cost of this cleaning is estimated at €7,500. The lawn on the Jules-Guesde alleys was also extensively damaged by the passage of an agricultural machine equipped with a harrow. Its restoration is valued at €5,500. » The roots of nine plane trees were also damaged by the machine. The extent of the wounds weakens these trees and makes them more vulnerable to diseases, parasites and fungi.

Farmers in Haute-Garonne expressed their fed-up with the end of tax-free agricultural diesel, the lack of visibility for organic farming and the directions taken by the common agricultural policy. They are demanding in particular a reduction in charges and a break regarding the numerous standards to which they are subject.

While they had planned a new demonstration this Thursday, November 30 at the MEET exhibition center in Aussonne, where three members of the government are going as part of the COP Occitanie, the Young Farmers and the FDSEA have indicated that they are suspending their movement after having obtained a meeting today with Christophe Béchu, the Minister of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.
