He bears the first name of a biblical prophet and a name which, in France, resembles a powerful clearing of the throat. In his country, his compatriots pronounce “Vignegod” when they see Jonas Vingegaard, the new yellow jersey of the Tour at the end of the most beautiful stage of the 21st century. During the presentation of the teams in Copenhagen at Tivoli Park before the Grand Départ, the Danish public acclaimed him like a rock star and only saw him. Yet for a long, very long time, no one looked at little Jonas near Hillerslev, a small village in northern Denmark. He was frail and tiny. On windy days, which is often there, it was no match for the gusts.
