There was no longer any suspense at the level of the distinctive jerseys of the Tour de France 2023 this Sunday: Jonas Vingegaard was sure to rally Paris with the general winner’s yellow tunic on his shoulders, the same for Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) and his white jersey with red polka dots. The best climber of the Grande Boucle even took the liberty of going for the last point at stake on this edition, at the top of the Côte du Pavé des Gardes. The only small issue of the day was to be found on the side of the green jersey: if Jasper Philipsen was guaranteed to finish the race as the best sprinter, the Belgian could accentuate his capital of points on his runner-up Mads Pedersen. Surprised by Jordi Meeus on the line, Philipsen finished in the end with a 121-point lead.
