In the Loire, hot air balloon trips over the castles of the department are offered. “On is right on the field of Cheverny (Loir-et-Cher). Just in front of us, there is the whole forest of Cheverny with the body of water, the golf course”, explains Kevin Duval, member of the company Au gré des vents, which offers these trips. A unique experience at an altitude of 600 meters, in the early hours of the morning, that a young couple offered themselves to rediscover their region.
“Frankly, it’s quite soothing to be so high”explains the man of the couple. To enjoy the show, they are not the only ones who got up at dawn. Since the end of confinement, Au gré des vents has gone from 2,000 to 4,000 passengers per year. Flights are full every weekend. “People have stayed a little bit locked up at home with the Covid-19. (…) Now that we are free, the hot air balloon is all that is freer”, analyse Kevin Duval. Each year, the castles of the Loire attract more than a million tourists.
