The Harz National Park Administration received funding of around 764,000 euros on Tuesday. The majority of the money will go towards expanding the exhibition in the visitor center in Torfhaus in the Upper Harz.

The adventure trail around the Große Torfhausmoor (Goslar district) will also be expanded with around 226,200 euros, as the national park announced on its website. Accordingly, the boards along the hiking trail should be supplemented by digital offers and viewing platforms. According to its own information, the national park administration wants to have completed the expansion together with the regional association of BUND Lower Saxony by April 2026.

The funding for the construction work was therefore approved by NBank. According to the national park administration, the money comes from the Landscape Values ​​2.0 funding program of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and from the state of Lower Saxony. The Harz Tower in Torfhaus was only opened at the end of last year. The viewing platform was also financed with the help of state funding.
