Tourists from all over the world choose it for its sunshine and relaxed lifestyle. The Côte d’Azur is a privileged destination for the English, the Americans, but the Covid has been there. So howannouncement this 2022 season?
Between Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes) and Saint-Raphael (Was)the Corniche d’Or road is often impassable in summer. After two years of health crisis, tourists are coming back, but their habits have changed a bit, some are arriving without a reservation. “It’s really new, in the past, in an establishment like ours, we reserved three months in advance”says Aurore Laroche, director of the Esterel Caravaning campsite.
French tourists are still worried, unlike foreigners, who are already back in force. Germans and English, in particular, have been deprived of the Riviera for two years. For nothing at world they would not miss the aperitif at the campsite again. For the high summer season, the campsite is already almost full. On the Croisette in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes)it’s a all another case. Chic stores and private beaches are still deserted. American, European or Middle Eastern tourists are expected in large numbers this summer, unlike the Russians, who have been absent, already since the ruble crisis in 2014. Direct flights have just reopened between Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) and the United States. By plane, yacht or motorhome, tourists are back on the Côte d’Azur.
