On this Whit Monday, hotel reservations exploded in the north of France. Tourism professionals are delighted to see such an influx.
On the Côte d’Opale, it hovers like a summer vacation. A wave of tourists invaded the dam of Malo-les-Bains (North). A couple from Belgium were seduced by the sea view and the prices. “I compared the prices a bit, it’s much cheaper [qu’en Belgique] and much nicer”, assures Mr. For the Pentecost weekend, a hotel has filled up. “It’s an exceptional rate for this big weekend”, says Nils Morbihan, the head of reception. In the region, a third of the nights are booked.
A growing region
Heading North. The department is more and more attractive. “We feel that a lot of things are developing here. In a few years, it will be really great. But here, already, it’s very pleasant”, certifies an English tourist passing through Dunkirk. These vacationers therefore have one more day to slow down before returning to work.
