Tours, leader at the end of the regular season, made a success of its entry into the play-off of the Volleyball Championship by dominating defending champion Montpellier (3-1) on Saturday for its series of quarter-finals.
The remake of the last Championship final unsurprisingly turned to the advantage of TVB who had the advantage of the field against the Héraultais.
The next match in this series, disputed in the best of five matches, will be held again in Touraine on Monday (6:00 p.m.) before a third and a potential fourth confrontation disputed, they, in Montpellier. If a support match was necessary, it would be up to the highest ranked club, in this case Tours, to play at home.
The other quarter-finals on Saturday did not offer any surprises either: Chaumont dominated at home Saint-Nazaire (3-0) and Narbonne, Tourcoing (3-1). Nantes-Rezé, TVB’s surprise dolphin in the regular season, had more difficulty: Hubert Henno’s men were led 2-0 before overthrowing Sète 3-2.
