Tovino Thomas and director Basil Joseph, who starred in the film’s title with the first reaction after the release of ‘Minnal Murali’. Both have thanked the audience for accepting the film. “Thanks a lot to everyone. For being with us from the beginning until now. For making our Lightning Murali our Lightning Murali! Thank you so much for the love,” Tovino wrote on Facebook. Basil’s only note is ‘Thank you all’.
Minnal Murali has made an important Indian entry in Netflix’s Christmas releases as a direct OTT release. The release was at 1.30pm today. The first response to the 2 hour and 39 minute film began at 4:30 p.m. Netflix has not given much importance and hype to any other Indian release recently. The first reactions on Twitter and Facebook were that the film did justice to the hype created by the pre-release promotions.
The film is the first superhero film in Malayalam and is a career milestone for Tovino and Basil. This is the second time that the two have teamed up after the hit film Goda. Guru Somasundaram plays the protagonist. This character and his performance are getting great response on social media. The world premiere of the film was held on the 16th of this month at the Geo Mami Mumbai Film Festival. Director Anjali Menon and many others who saw the film there shared their good comments.
