jpnn.comBANDUNG – The Indonesian U-17 National Team held its first training camp (TC) in Bandung City, West Java, Friday (10/1), in preparation for the 2025 U-17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.

A total of 32 players took part in the inaugural TC which was held at the Sidolig Stadium, Bandung City, today.

According to Indonesian U-17 National Team Coach Nova Arianto, the majority of players taking part in today’s TC are old faces.

“We are making preparations again for the Asian Cup which will take place in April. This will be the first stage of TC. The composition of the players is 50 percent of the old ones, and we want to see new player options,” said Nova when met after leading a training session at the Sidolig Stadium, Friday (10/1).

Nova explained that of the 34 names called, only 32 joined. Two names, namely Matthew Kohnke and Nur Ichsan, have not yet joined.

“Of the 34 players we called, 32 have already attended, two players, namely Matthew Kohnke, are traveling here, and one player, Goalkeeper Persik Kediri, is currently playing at EPA,” said Nova.

Nova further said that not all the players who were called up would be taken to Saudi Arabia to play in the tournament which will take place from 3-20 April 2025.

Only 23 were brought in by Nova Arianto for the biennial tournament.
