/ An American official revealed to the Washington Post today, Friday, that the United States has strengthened its defenses around a base in Jordan that was bombed by Iraqi armed factions, at a time when it is preparing to respond to the drone attack that claimed the lives of three of its soldiers.
While media reports spoke of an “imminent US military response,” some Iranian-backed factions vowed to continue attacking US forces in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the US newspaper says the US has beefed up defences around Tower 22, which houses about 350 US soldiers and is located near the demilitarised zone on the border between Jordan and Syria. The Iraqi border is only 6 miles (10 kilometres) away.
Tower 22 is the military site where 3 American soldiers were killed and dozens were injured.
American interests in the region have not known peace since October 7, as attacks by Iranian-backed militias have not stopped, targeting areas where American forces are deployed and their bases in Syria, Iraq and the Red Sea.
