We started following Luke Belingthrough this column, about a couple of years ago.

The South African musician left his home country at the age of 19 to start touring the world and has now been living in Hawaii for some time.

His first LP, “A Stone In The Mouth Of A Ocean”, was released in October 2023, but his second full-length effort, “This Parlor Trick Life”, details of which are still unknown, will be released soon.

It is from his sophomore album that this song, “American Dreams,” was released yesterday.

Written a little over a year ago, the song was produced and mixed by Tyler Fortier.

Shard writes on his social channels:

For better or worse, the American Dream (and its premise for non-Americans) is perhaps the quintessential of our pursuit of happiness.

The piece, designed with piano, guitar and drums, has a certain epicness and does not hide Luke’s passion for folk-rock, capable of writing excellent melodies, while influences of Bruce Springsteen e Gaslight Anthem: irresistible and captivating!
