Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). ATM Tarikuzzaman said, the image of the capital market depends on the ability of track holders and authorized representatives. Because ordinary investors come to you. You are the gatekeeper of the capital market.

He said this on the concluding day of the two-day workshop on “Securities Related Laws” and “Effective Compliance of Securities Related Laws” for representatives, authorized representatives and compliance officers of trackholders companies held on March 4 and 5 at DSE Tower in the capital.

ATM Tarikuzzaman said, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) as a regulatory body formulates various laws and regulations. We have to follow those laws and regulations. Commissions and their direct contact with exchanges are very less. So you act as a bridge or coordinator between the investor and the exchange. If investor confidence can be maintained, both commissions and exchanges can be assured.

He also said that DSE’s aim is to represent the capital market on a larger scale by retaining the confidence of investors. All those present here are people from the financial sector. The overall economy of the country is improving. But it will take more time to reach the heights that the overall capital market can boast of. So we have a long way to go.

The MD of DSE said that it is everyone’s responsibility to carry out the monitoring and enforcement required by law. The rules and regulations that have come, our aim is to inform you of these rules and regulations through the workshop so that you can actively participate and contribute to the capital market by correcting the mistakes and overcoming these problems.

Finally, in response to the various questions of trek holders. Tariq said, regarding several rules and regulations, opinions have already been sent to BSEC and several proposals are in our hands, which we are discussing with the various stockholders concerned. In the future, after the review, it will be sent to the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission for consideration. We want to assure that we will do whatever it takes to move the capital market forward and develop the capital market. We will all work together.

DSE Chief Regulatory Officer (CRO) Khairul Basar Abu Taher Mohammad presented a paper on the topic. He elaborated on the requirements and violations of securities laws and said, the main objective of this session is to ensure the safety and security of funds of customers or investors, to ensure the safety and security of securities of clients or investors, to ensure compliance with securities regulations, MDs of trackholder companies, Raising awareness among CEOs and compliance authorities.
