Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Egypt in the first six months of this year increased by 4.5 times compared to the same period in 2023.

As reported on Monday by Day.Az with reference to Trend, this was stated by the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev at an event dedicated to the National Day of Egypt.

“The official visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Egypt in June this year opened a new page in the history of our cooperation,” he said.

Rashad Nabiyev noted that this year the countries celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

“Over the past thirty-two years, 49 bilateral documents have been signed, which has allowed us to further strengthen relations between our countries,” he said.

It should be noted that diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on March 27, 1992. The Egyptian embassy in Baku has been operating since April 1993, and the Azerbaijani embassy in Cairo since January 1994.
