Trade turnover in Baku has increased

In January-June 2024, the volume of trade turnover in Baku increased by 4.5 percent compared to January-June 2023, amounting to 15 billion 892.1 million manats.

The Baku City Statistical Office reported this to Day.Az on Saturday.

It was noted that the cost of food, beverages and tobacco products sold in the retail network increased by 0.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 9 billion 116.8 million manats, and non-food products – by 10.5 percent, up to 6 billion 775.3 million manats. 36.9 percent of consumer goods were sold by enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 48.7 percent – in retail outlets owned by individual entrepreneurs, and 14.4 percent – in the markets of the capital of Azerbaijan.

Let us recall that in January-June 2024, products worth 27 billion 251.2 million manats were sold to consumers in the retail trade network of Azerbaijan. Thus, in the first half of the year, the city of Baku accounted for 58.3 percent of the total turnover.
