Trader Joe’s Faces Another Recall as Fully Cooked Falafel may Contain Rocks

For the third time in a week, popular grocery store chain Trader Joe’s is recalling a product due to potential contamination. This time, the Fully Cooked Falafel is being recalled because it “may contain rocks.”

Last Friday, the company announced the recall of two cookie products after discovering that they might also contain rocks. And just yesterday, Trader Joe’s revealed that its Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup is being recalled in seven states because the product “may contain insects.” Now, the Fully Cooked Falafel recall has expanded to affect the product in at least 33 states.

Trader Joe’s has taken swift action to ensure customer safety. All the potentially affected products have been removed from stores or destroyed, according to the company. In a statement, Trader Joe’s urged customers not to consume the Fully Cooked Falafel: “If you purchased or received any donations of Fully Cooked Falafel, please do not eat them. We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.”

The recall of the broccoli cheddar soup specifically affects the 20-ounce product in Florida, Illinois, California, Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reported a total of 10,889 affected cases.

Additionally, the cookie recall includes two Trader Joe’s favorites – the Almond Windmill Cookies and the Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies.

Trader Joe’s emphasizes its commitment to customer safety, stating that it is proactive in addressing potential problems with its products. The company’s statement says, “We will never leave to chance the safety of the products we offer. We err on the side of caution and are proactive in addressing issues. We take action quickly, aggressively investigating potential problems and removing product from sale if there is any doubt about its safety or quality.”

Trader Joe’s mentioned that it does not rely solely on regulatory agencies to determine its course of action. Instead, the company proactively shares information about product concerns with customers through in-store signs, their website, and email alerts. The statement concludes by emphasizing the importance of product safety, noting that their families also consume Trader Joe’s products.

As Trader Joe’s deals with yet another recall, customers are reminded to stay updated on product recalls and to follow instructions from the company to ensure their safety.
