A fireworks display called “Torito Pinto” was held during the festival.
“La Recuerda” is known as a 101-year-old tradition and is held to commemorate the destruction of the town of Nejapa in the 1917 eruption of the San Salvador Volcano.
Within the scope of the event, the participants are fighting a war in which cloth balls tied with wire are set on fire.
Participants wear wet clothing, gloves and masks to prevent burns.
