The break in an electrical power cable near Massy interrupted train traffic on the Atlantique high-speed line, causing significant delays to departures and arrivals from Montparnasse station in Paris, announced the SNCF midday Sunday.
A train stopped in the middle of the line required the dispatch of a rescue train. “As soon as the emergency train has left, the circulation of all trains will be able to gradually resume, which should be the case around 5:30 p.m.”announced the SNCF shortly after 2 p.m.
Around 2:40 p.m., train traffic was able to resume on a single track, but traffic remained severely disrupted, with the railway company predicting delays of thirty to sixty minutes departing from the station, and thirty minutes and two hours upon arrival.
