The Main Directorate “Border Police” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports on its website about intense traffic at some of the border points with Romania, Serbia and Turkey, based on data as of 06:00 this morning.

On the border with Romania, traffic is intense at the Kardam, Nikopol and Oryahovo border checkpoints (BCPs) at the exit for trucks.

Due to the major repair of the Bulgarian section of the Danube bridge near Ruse, a temporary organization of traffic has been introduced, with the traffic being carried out in one lane with a through mode and regulated by a traffic light system.

In addition to the “Ruse” border crossing, drivers in the region can also go to the “Silistra” border crossing, the “Kardam” border crossing, the “Durankulak” border crossing, the “Kainardja” border crossing and the “Krushari” border crossing. The last two are open from 08:00 to 20:00 every day, trucks are not allowed through them.

Every Friday from 16:00 to 22:00, the Romanian authorities do not allow trucks to pass through the “Durankulak” checkpoint in both directions; on Saturdays, Sundays, pre-holidays and public holidays, the restriction is from 06:00 to 22:00.

On the border with Greece, traffic is carried out normally at all border checkpoints.

In connection with the significantly increased crossings through the “Kulata” and “Makaza” border crossing points and the large number of Romanian tourists traveling to and from Greece, the “Border Police” recommend the use of alternative checkpoints on the Bulgarian-Greek border, which have a lower load and allow faster passage.
Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of Thessaloniki, Kavala and the Halkidiki Peninsula can pass through the Ilinden border crossing as an alternative to the Kulata border crossing. Tourists traveling to resorts in the area of Xanthi, Komotini and o. Thassos, can use the “Zlatograd” checkpoint as an alternative to the “Makaza” checkpoint. For resorts in the region of Alexandroupolis, it is recommended to go through the “Captain Petko Voivoda” checkpoint.

Only cars and minibuses are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad border crossings, BTA reported.

On the border with the Republic of North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.
