Traffic Restrictions in Athens This Weekend for World Car-Free Day Celebrations

Traffic regulations are expected to be in effect on Saturday (21.09.24) and Sunday in the center of Athens, to celebrate the global car-free day.

Specifically, as part of the “This is Athens-City Festival” organized by the City of Athens and the celebration of the global car-free day, traffic regulations will be implemented starting at 20:00 on Saturday (21/9) and until 22:00 on Sunday (22/9), with traffic stoppage and prohibition of stopping and parking of vehicles.

The prohibitions will apply to the following streets:

Athinas, in the section between Evripidis and Ermou streets and on both traffic lanes and on its perpendicular streets up to the first parallel.
Kar. Servias, throughout its length.
Perikleous, throughout its length.
Athenaios, throughout its length.
Ag. Irinis, throughout its length.
Pl. Ag. Asomaton, in the section between Sarri and Ermou streets, in the traffic lane towards Ermou.
Ermou, in the section between Ag. Asomaton and Athinas streets, in the traffic lane towards Athinas street.

The Traffic Police urges drivers, for their better service and to avoid additional traffic problems, to avoid passing their vehicles on the above streets, avenues, and squares during the specified time periods.
