If it was previously planned to limit vehicle traffic on the bridge, providing one driving lane in the initial section of the bridge in the direction from the city center and two driving lanes in the direction of the city center. Then now two driving lanes will be provided in both driving directions.
During this period, traffic will be restricted at the intersection of Pärnavas and Aleksandra Čaka streets.
Among them, vehicle traffic is closed on Sapieru street, driving in the direction of Aleksandra Čakas street. In order to ensure the access of resident and business vehicles to the residence or business located on Sapieru Street during the construction works, two-way traffic has been established on Sapieru Street, in the section from the intersection with Rudolfa Street towards Aleksandra Čaka Street.
Those responsible for carrying out the work are tasked with ensuring the placement of road signs, the approach of vehicles to the residence or company of residents and businesses located in the mentioned sections of the street, as well as operational and public transport traffic.
As reported, reconstruction works of the Jorģa Zemitān bridge are underway in Riga.
In the summer, the Riga city council decided to borrow 20.5 million euros for the reconstruction of the Zemitana bridge at an extraordinary meeting.
In general, the reconstruction of the bridge will cost up to 24.2 million euros. Of these, the co-financing of the municipality is planned for 3.6 million euros.
