Tragedy: A woman in the ninth month of her pregnancy died due to flu complications

Tragedy at Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus: A 31-year-old woman in her ninth month of pregnancy died last night (Thursday) after contracting the flu and her condition deteriorating. Before her condition worsened, the doctors decided to perform a caesarean section and give birth to the healthy baby.

It all started when two weeks ago the woman was hospitalized at Hadassah Mount Scopus, following a significant deterioration in the flu she was suffering from. Upon hospitalization she underwent a caesarean section during which a healthy baby was born followed by respiration and anesthesia due to respiratory complications.

Despite an improvement in her condition in recent days, tonight her body systems collapsed and despite intensive resuscitation efforts performed by the intensive care unit staff, he was forced to determine her death. The hospital said they share the family’s grief and are accompanying them at this time. The case was reported to the Ministry of Health.
