A boy was tragically killed when fans were celebrating France’s victory in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup.
A 14-year-old boy was killed when a car hit him during a crowd celebrating a French victory in the southern French city of Montpellier, local authorities said.
The boy, whose name has not been released, was taken to hospital where he later died.
The driver of the car fled the scene, but the vehicle was spotted nearby. Police are investigating what caused the car to hit the boy.

Following the French national team’s win against Morocco on Wednesday night, a video emerged on Twitter showing a car driving dangerously near a crowd of people on the street.
Elsewhere in France, people in Paris and other cities cheered and celebrated as France advanced to the World Cup finals.
