Tragedy in Jerusalem: 70-year-old choked on a hard egg – and died in the hospital

A 70-year-old woman choked on a hard-boiled egg this evening (Thursday) and lost consciousness in her home on Shomri Emonim Street in Jerusalem.

Moishi Velas and Naftali Schmerler, medics of the Rescue Union: “We performed CPR on her after, according to her family members, she choked while eating a hard-boiled egg.

During the resuscitation operations, pieces of egg were removed from her trachea and her heart started beating again. Unfortunately, a little while later, family members informed us that she had been pronounced dead at Mount Scopus Hospital.”
