Mysterious tragedy in Petah Tikva: A 40-year-old man died in a fire that broke out in a 4-story residential building on Histadrut Street in Petah Tikva. MDA medics and paramedics pronounced the man dead on the spot, after he was found unconscious with burns on his body without signs of life in the courtyard of the building.

In the meantime, the police opened an investigation, from which it appears that when the rescue forces arrived at the scene, they identified the man’s body in the square of the building covered with a carpet, apparently after he himself, or another party, tried to put it out while it was burning. At the same time, another mystery emerges in the event, as the deceased’s apartment was found locked while it was on fire.

The police are trying to investigate how the man got to the courtyard of the building, whether it was a criminal incident in which another party was involved in setting fire to the building and taking the body out, or whether the apartment caught fire, and the victim tried to escape for his life, and when he got out, he or someone else tried to put out the fire that was engulfing him without success. In addition, the forensic investigators are examining the scene, along with transferring the deceased to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, for further examination of medical factors.

Paramedic MDA Alon Rizkan said: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw the injured man lying unconscious in the building’s plaza, suffering from severe burns on his body. We performed medical tests, but he was without signs of life and we had no choice but to determine his death.”
