On the occasion of the Panguni Uthra festival, five individuals drowned in the Muvasaranpet pond at Dharmalingeswarar temple near Chennai Tambaram. A Tirthavari program is conducted every year during this festival, and this year’s program was being held at the aforementioned pond. Unfortunately, Raghavan (18), Surya (22), Panesh (22), and Yogiswaren (21), along with one other person, drowned unexpectedly. The fire brigade was able to retrieve the bodies of the deceased and transported them to a government hospital. The police have initiated an investigation and registered a case concerning the matter.
