The accident, which occurred at the intersection of Calle 69 and Carrera 47 around 5:30 p.m., left 16 people injured and claimed the lives of two others, including a minor. Identified as Maximiliano Urrego, two years old, who was with his mother on the metro feeder bus and died at the scene.

The other victim is Óscar de Jesús Herrera Vargas, 61 years old, the driver of the special service bus, who was from Guarne, Antioquia, and worked a good part of his life as a special service vehicle driver.

The video shows how the special transport bus speeds down a steep street and crashes directly into the rear of the metro feeder bus, which was preparing to park. Simultaneously, a motorcycle driver and their passenger miraculously avoid being victims of the crash by being on the side of the road.

Of the 16 injured, it is known that five are in critical condition. Among them is a woman who was thrown against the bus feeder window, suffering serious head injuries, and, according to authorities, had to have her limbs partially amputated.

According to the mayor, Federico Gutiérrez, the special transport bus had valid insurance and technical mechanical inspection. Meanwhile, the Mobility Secretariat stated that judicial police would inspect the vehicle to determine the cause for which the driver of the special transport bus could not brake and ended up colliding with the vehicles.
